Keto Day 18

Yeah, I skipped about 10 days on my Keto Journal, but fear not! I’m still at it. There’s definitely some better days than others, specially with stress going on around me.

I’m still losing weight (slowly but still losing), I’ve been trying some new recipes here and there (cauliflower rice!) and I started to workout again.

The cool thing about this (and I’m writing this while I’m still in a good mood) is that I have learned a lot about my body weight, what triggers my anxieties, the difference between real hunger and mind hunger, and what Keto friendly foods make me gain weight and why (bacon!)

Like I said, I also started going back to the gym and that made me feel good. I’m seriously in worse condition than I thought I was but I do feel like I’m slowly getting there. I’m trying to find out how many muscle I have lost since November (don’t know if I really want the answer to this) and where I am today (the new gym doesn’t have an InBody scale). My running zones are also very very jacked up, but at least now I can finish the warmup without feeling like shit!!

It’s also been snowing since my last update, Iowa winter has finally caught up and all I can think about is how last year I was all up and at it about going to run in the snow and now I don’t even dare to run outside (been doing a lot of treadmill).

Right now my biggest concern is me going to Mexico next Monday. I’ll try to stay Keto as much as possible but I fear the worse to be honest (specially because I know me) in terms of me eating and drinking. I’ll try to keep posting while there!

Keto Day 4

Completed day 4. I think I’m getting the hang of this. I continue to lose weight but I know a lot of it is just water weight and stuff I can easily recover in a day so I’m not celebrating yet.

I tried some variation of bullet proof coffee today (ish) and it wasn’t that bad. 1 Vanilla Premiere Protein, 1 double espresso shot, vanilla hazelnut MCT oil. Not bad at all! I may venture tomorrow and try it with actual butter to make it more bulletproof (if that’s a thing).

For lunch I found a recipe online for grilled chicken with garlic butter. I gotta say I’m starting to like eating with fat (although I miss my carbs).

Went back to the treadmill again today. Legs felt less shitty and heart rate went through the roof. Better than yesterday definitely but still long ways to go. Patience. Patience.

Keto Day 1

Started my Keto 30 day trial run today. It’s amazing how my brain immediately tried to sabotage me and my anxiety kicked in the minute I started to think about weight loss and lifestyle changes. Still, I managed to work it out, stayed for the most part on my calorie and macro goals. Still got a ton of questions to go through but my hope is as I keep going at it it’ll get better.

New Year 2019

2018 ended and 2019 started with the wife and me watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (1 and 2). Still pretty sad when Dobby (spelling?) dies.

But anyway, clean slate, new year all that stuff currently going on right now. This morning I finally got on the scale and just as I imagined I gained a ton of weight after Christmas holidays, getting sick, a bad nosebleed, losing my job, etc…

These are my current goals for 2019:

  • Try Keto for a month.
  • Ease my way back to the gym after my bad nose bleed and shit that happened mis December and then stay consistent.
  • Do the I-35 challenge.
  • Get back to 220 pounds.
  • Then go to 200 pounds.
  • Finish my PN1 certification (more like start it).
